What is Microneedling and how does it promote facial rejuvenation?
Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) – is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment that uses a “dermaroller” with series of tiny needles to gently penetrate the top layers of the skin. Microneedling rebuilds the skin by stimulating the production of skin elastin and collagen, resulting in a smoother appearance and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
Why might Microneedling need a revision treatment?
Typically, microneedling revision patients come to us either because they are unsatisfied with a previous treatment because the results were not significant enough to produce the level of skin rejuvenation improvement they were seeking. Or, they may need to include a supplemental topical treatment to accelerate the rejuvenation process. For our revision patients typically fine lines and wrinkles may still evident, or acne scarring and large pores may still be visible. In this case, another microneedling treatment — or a series of treatments — may be necessary.
How many Microneedling Revision treatments will I need?
You will notice visible improvement after the first or second treatment but more noticeable results will be evident after 3-5 treatments spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart. Your skin will continue to gradually improve over the next 6 to 12 months with proper skin care regimen. Any post-treatment skin care products will be included in your customized treatment plan.
