Fly-in Surgery

Our patients come to the Deschamps-Braly Clinic in San Francisco from all over the world. Traveling for a cosmetic procedure is becoming increasingly common as patients are aware of their best options available and interested in receiving care from outside their home states or countries. As such, fly-in surgery is an option for our patients.

Flying to San Francisco

The San Francisco area is serviced by three airports: San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Oakland International Airport (OAK), and Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC).

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest to the Deschamps-Braly Clinic in San Francisco’s Union Square; however, travel from any of the three local airports is possible depending on factors including the patient’s lodging preferences and flight options.

Considerations for Fly-In Surgery

As surgical cosmetic procedures require some downtime, there are extra considerations that must be taken for traveling patients.

Note that it might not be advisable to fly for the first several weeks after surgery as the risk of blood clots in the legs is present during this period. In addition, follow-up appointments with your surgeon might be necessary to monitor healing and results as you recover. Finally, rough air and other factors have the potential to cause a significant amount of discomfort during the early stages of healing.

For these reasons, it may be suggested that you remain in the San Francisco area during the initial healing process. There are many lodging options available in Union Square and the nearby area, including luxury hotels and resorts; the Deschamps-Braly team can help you coordinate lodging and transportation surrounding your procedure to ensure the most comfortable and seamless experience possible.
